About CAISE

The Centre for Academic Inclusion in Science and Engineering, CAISE, was set up by the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Queen Mary University of London to champion Inclusive Education across programmes in all five schools of the Faculty.

CAISE is a direct response to our mission, enshrined in Queen Mary's strategy to become the most inclusive university of our kind, anywhere.

CAISE mission is to support all learners to become competent scientists and engineers.

Our mission goes beyond just student experience into transforming the way we think about education more broadly.

In doing so, CAISE will research novel pedagogies, develop staff, share and promote robust practices, showcase our victories and reflect on our struggles in collaboration with students, experts from other fields, and external critical friends.

Our work focuses on developing what we have termed Academic Inclusion in all its dimensions.
